Chronos to exhibit GPS Interference Monitor at Counter Terror Expo
Detecting the presence of GPS jamming
Lydbrook, Gloucestershire, UK, 16 Mar 2010 – Chronos Technology will be exhibiting its handheld CTL3500 GPS Interference Monitor on stand M11 at Counter Terror Expo taking place at Olympia in London 14-15 April 2010.
The Monitor is designed to detect the presence of a GPS jammer or too much GPS satellite power or non GPS signal and interference broadcasting on the satellite navigation L1 channel. This could indicate inadvertent interference or intentional criminal activity intended to jam GPS signals with jamming devices that are readily available on the internet.
The relatively low cost, handheld, battery operated device uses low noise signal amplification with precision SAW filters and logarithmic detection to detect interference to GPS sensor signals. The filtering and detection techniques check for unwanted signals within the centre of the GPS L1 band no matter what the waveform or modulation scheme may be and indicates the level on the 5 LEDs and cadenced vibrator.
