GNSS Vulnerability, Scintillation and New Partnerships for Chronos

Key topics of industry and governmental interest over the last month or two are the vulnerabilities of GNSS technology and using GNSS technology for the detection of interference; deliberate and natural. The forthcoming RIN NAV10 event will address some of these topics and Chronos is presenting two papers at this leading GNSS conference. GNSS vulnerabilities were also a strong topic of discussion at the ION GNSS event in Portland Oregon recently, where Chronos discussed a number of interference detection systems including the GAARDIAN programme which enters field trials phase during November.

In the high-performance precision receiver market, Septentrio have introduced the new low noise multi frequency multi constellation receiver dedicated to ionospheric scintillation monitoring and space weather applications. Of key importance to many customers including those in the scientific community, this product brings the ability to detect and analyse scintillation effects with a single system into reach. PolaRxS offers 136 channels capable of tracking simultaneously GPS, GLONASS, Galileo and SBAS signals in L1, L2, L5 and E5ab/AltBOC bands.

Chronos has signed an agreement with the EMEA arm of Hemisphere GPS to add Hemisphere to the focussed portfolio of the Chronos GNSS division. Hemisphere GPS designs and manufactures innovative, cost-effective GPS and complimentary products for positioning, guidance, and machine control applications. As a pioneer and leader in precision agriculture, their application-focused designs offer affordable centimetre precision technology integrated with flexible, intelligent machine guidance and control. more»
Business product groups include Agriculture, Earthworks and Precision Groups which include machinery control, surveying and construction applications. The Hemisphere product range compliments that of Septentrio ideally and allows Chronos to offer a full range of capability and cost-effective GNSS receiver solutions.
